Rev. Ron LaRocque
Ron is a gifted speaker known for offering thoughtful, inspiring
messages which are biblically grounded and relevant to contemporary
life. He is able to speak difficult truths in a gentle and loving way,
enabling the hearer to receive and accept what is being said. Ron was
honored to serve as a guest preacher at a number of churches and events
including a faculty-sponsored chapel service at Yale Divinity School and
the 2007 MCC Clergy Conference, and was the recipient of Yale's Wolcott
Caulkins Prize for "excellence in clear and vigorous pulpit speaking."
As a skilled facilitator, Ron was the designer and presenter of a number
of workshops from small-group bible studies at church to large-group
offerings at Regional and General Conferences. He actively engages
workshop participants in lively discussions, fun activities, and
interactive learning. He has regularly received accolades for
effectively and efficiently moderating meetings of the Board of
Directors and the Congregation.
Ron is experienced in establishing and strengthening the administrative
foundation of churches to promote increased productivity, transparency,
and accountability. He capably manages paid staff and volunteers,
encouraging and equipping them for increasingly effective ministry and
personal growth.
He
has authored two papers:
"The Moral Philosophy of Organic Utility: Durkheim, Mill, Maslow"
presented with Dr. Candan Duran-Aydintug at the 1999 Annual Meeting of
