She's not a little girl anymore. MCC Winston-Salem celebrates its
Sixteenth Anniversary on Sunday, September 12. Join us for this Sweet
Sixteen celebration with a special Anniversary Message during worship
and an Anniversary Reception following both of our services.

Delegate. These positions will be elected at our annual Congregational
Meeting scheduled for October 31. If you are interested in running for
one of these positions, please see Pastor Ron or any other member of the

these small groups.
Evening Worship Changes Ahead
On Sunday, September 12, we will debut a new evening worship format
designed to provide you with a more spontaneous and authentic worship
experience. Come and check it out.
What's Happening In Our Fellowship?
We
do our best to keep you informed about what's going on at MCC
Winston-Salem, but are you being kept up-to-date on what is happening
throughout our denomination? If not, you can change that now by joining
MCC Churches' email list. Get information about what our Fellowship is
doing, what's happening at other churches, how we are responding to
events in the world, and more.

your address to the list and stay informed.
MCCWS Farmers' Market Now Open
Our
Farmers' Market is open for business. How does the Farmers' Market
work? It's simple: If you have a garden which yields more food than
your household can eat, simply bring it to the church to share. After
worship, all are invited to stop by the Farmers' Market table to
'purchase' donated produce. The purchase price is entirely up to you.
Simply make what you think is an appropriate donation for the items you
take. All proceeds benefit Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC,
one of the premier agencies fighting hunger in our community.

Generosity In Giving
When we think of generosity, we
might look at the size of the
gift or the nobility of the
cause. But Jesus measured
generosity by a radically new
standard: the condition of the
giver's heart. "For
where your treasure is, there
your heart will be also"
(Matthew 6:21).
So, giving is more than an
obligation for followers of
Christ; it is an exciting
opportunity to lay up treasure
that will last for all eternity.
"The Lord Jesus himself said:
'It
is more blessed to give than to
receive' " (Acts
20:35b).
Statistics show that during the
Great Depression, Christians
gave more, in proportion to
their income, than we do now.
So, when giving, first open your
heart, then your purse.
If you haven't been able to make
it to church lately and would
like to mail your offering in,
please mail to:

Friends
On The Road
Friends on the Road is meeting again and
has resumed its study of If Grace is
True: Why God Will Save Every Person.
In this book, two pastors present their
controversial belief in eternal
salvation for all through God's perfect
grace. Long disturbed by the church's
struggle between offering both love and
rejection, they discover what God wants
from us and for us: grace for everyone.
Come for what is sure to be an
interesting and eye-opening discussion.
Friends on the Road meets on the 2nd
and 4th Wednesdays of the
month in the fellowship hall of the
church. Contact Alisa Dowell
adowell@yadtel.net
or Terry Brown
